Privacy Policy

The short version: MetaStreaming collects no data. The app has no analytics, no tracking, no ads, no accounts, and no servers of ours behind it.

Your video and audio

Video and audio from your glasses, cameras, microphone, and screen go directly from your device to the streaming destinations you configure (such as Twitch, YouTube, Kick, TikTok, or a custom RTMP server), and nowhere else. When you record, files are saved to your device's Photos library. We never receive, store, or see any of it.

Each streaming platform handles the stream you send it under its own privacy policy.

Face and background effects

Effects such as face blur, pixelation, and background replacement run entirely on-device using Apple's frameworks. No image data leaves your phone for processing.

Your credentials

Stream keys are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. If you link a YouTube account, sign-in happens directly between your device and Google using OAuth; the resulting token is stored on your device only. We cannot access your accounts.

Connections the app makes

Google user data

This section applies only if you choose to link a YouTube account inside the app. MetaStreaming's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

What Google user data the app accesses

With your permission (the youtube OAuth scope), the app accesses: the live broadcasts and live streams it creates on your channel — including the ingest URL and stream key Google issues for them — and the live chat messages (viewer display names and text) posted on those broadcasts while you are live, which are shown on your screen and never stored. It does not access your videos, video comments, subscribers, analytics, email address, or contacts.

How the app uses that data

For exactly one purpose: creating and managing the live broadcasts you start from the app, so you can go live on your own channel without copying a stream key by hand. The app creates a broadcast, binds a stream to it, sends your video to the ingest URL Google returns, and ends the broadcast when you stop. Nothing else is done with the data — no analytics, no profiling, no advertising, and no use unrelated to the live stream you initiated.

Sharing, transfer, and disclosure

Your Google user data is shared with no one. It never reaches us — MetaStreaming has no servers; every Google API call travels directly from your device to Google over TLS. It is not sold, transferred, disclosed, or made available to any third party, and it is never used for advertising. The only party that receives your video is the destination you chose: your own YouTube channel.

How sensitive data is protected

Sign-in uses Google's OAuth 2.0 with PKCE, in a secure browser session — the app never sees your Google password. The resulting OAuth tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device, encrypted by hardware, and are sent only to Google's own APIs over TLS. Stream keys issued for your broadcasts are held the same way.

Retention and deletion

The only Google user data the app retains is the OAuth token and the ingest URL and stream key of the live stream it created, on your device, for as long as the account stays linked. Unlinking YouTube in the app's setup screen deletes them immediately, as does deleting the app. You can also revoke MetaStreaming's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which invalidates the token on Google's side. Because nothing is ever stored off your device, there is no server-side copy to delete.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date. Given that the app collects nothing, don't expect much news here.
